How to grow Globe amaranth

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Watering: When first planted, water should be applied in small amounts. During the vigorous growth stage, water should be given in time to provide it with a slightly moist growth environment. When watering the plants, be sure to water them thoroughly so that there is no excess water in the soil. After the flower buds differentiate, you can water them more appropriately to help the flowers open smoothly.

2. Light: The maintenance location must have sufficient light. A too shady cultivation environment is not conducive to its growth, and will result in adverse performances such as few flowers, light flower color, and slow growth. During the cultivation period, the plants must be provided with at least 4 hours of sunlight every day.

3. Fertilization: Apply enough base fertilizer when planting, and you can use decomposed chicken manure. During the growth period, fertilizer needs to be applied every half a month or so. It is best to use liquid fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Avoid using fertilizers at too high a concentration as this can easily burn the roots.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Sowing method: prepare good quality seeds, use warm water to germinate them before planting, soak them for one day, and then remove them and control the moisture. Use 2 times the amount of fine sand or wood ash, mix it, then sow it into the substrate, cover it with a layer of soil, keep the temperature at 20-25℃, and seedlings will grow in about half a month.

2. Cutting method: It is best to do it in June or July. Cut thick branches with a length of 3-6cm and cut off the leaves at the bottom. Insert it into the sand bed, wait for about 20 days for rooting, and then transplant it.
