How to propagate Syngonium

How to propagate Syngonium

1. Division propagation

Syngonium has a strong growth ability and is usually divided after 2-3 years of cultivation. It is best to do this when repotting in spring, dividing the plants with roots into two or several clumps. Prepare soil suitable for its growth, disinfect the cut area and plant them in pots.

2. Tissue Culture Propagation

This method of propagation mainly uses side buds or stem tops, which also need to be disinfected before planting. You can use rooting water to help it grow new roots. It will grow into a small plant with a complete root system in about 20-25 days.

3. Cutting propagation

This is a more commonly used method. There are usually many side branches growing at the bottom of the plant. When the side branches grow 3-4 leaves, cut off the branches above the second node. The length of the cuttings can be about 10 cm. Prepare a breathable substrate and insert the cuttings into the soil to create a rooting environment of about 25°C. You can transplant it after it grows new shoots.
