How to grow Lithops

How to grow Lithops

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Currently, sandy soil is the best culture soil for it. If you don’t have it, you can also mix mountain mud and garden soil.

2. Light: It likes light but cannot stand strong sunlight, so it should be avoided in the summer. In the spring and autumn when the temperature is not high, it can be exposed to direct sunlight. In the winter, it should be placed in a bright place indoors for maintenance.

3. Watering: Do not overwater, otherwise it will easily cause root corrosion. You can spray water on its leaves more often.

4. Fertilization: Apply thin fertilizer water twice a month. Remember to stop applying fertilizer during the peeling period in April.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seed propagation: This plant is usually planted in kind, with very few seeds, mostly seedlings. Don't rush to plant the seedlings you buy. First soak the very dry roots at the bottom with water, and then plant them. This will increase the survival rate.

2. Cutting propagation: Select healthy stems, disinfect the soil and stems, and then carry out cuttings, keeping the temperature between 15-25 degrees.

3. Pest and disease control

Its biggest pest is root mealybug. When it is first discovered, just drip some mealybug solution on the roots to disinfect it. In normal times, we should also sterilize Lithops frequently to prevent the occurrence of diseases.
