Cultivation methods and precautions of Araucaria

Cultivation methods and precautions of Araucaria

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: The best soil for Araucaria is loose and fertile loam.

2. Light: Place it outdoors in spring and autumn, avoiding the midday sun. When kept outdoors in summer, provide appropriate shade and avoid direct sunlight.

3. Watering: The humidity of the potting soil should not be less than 70%, which is conducive to its good growth.

4. Fertilization: It grows vigorously, so you need to apply more fertilizer. Apply well-rotted thin fertilizer 1-2 times a month to make it grow healthily.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Cutting propagation: It is usually carried out in spring and summer. Select strong and powerful stems, disinfect them, and then carry out cuttings. The soil should be kept at a moderate concentration of about 70%. Pay attention to maintenance at ordinary times, and it will take root and survive after 4 months.

2. Seed propagation: First, grind the seed coat to reduce the germination time, and secondly, disinfect the soil to avoid the invasion of diseases.

3. Common pests and diseases

For example, if there is damage by scale insects, you can use 1000-1500 times diluted 40% omethoate to control it.

IV. Precautions

1. Pruning: The lower branches of Araucaria are prone to withering and falling off, so it is necessary to give it proper pruning to ensure the beautiful shape of the plant.

2. Repotting: Repot once every 2-3 years. After repotting, it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight immediately. It should be exposed to scattered light first.
