1. Choosing the rootstockThere are many rootstocks to choose from when grafting roses. Such as single roses, roses or wild roses will all be fine. Rose refers to the wild variety, which is what we usually call dog rose or wild rose. Because its root system is relatively developed and its disease resistance is very strong, the survival rate is higher when grafted. 2. Grafting method1. Select strong branches with leaf buds. Use a knife to make a small cut one centimeter above the leaf buds. Do not cut it off. Cut it into 3 cm lengths. After cutting, soak it in water to keep it moist, or wrap it with a wet towel. 2. Make a horizontal cut on the smooth side of the rootstock, but do not cut it off. The length of the cut should be the same as that of the scion, about 3 cm. 3. After the rootstock is prepared, insert the cut leaf buds into it, and then tie it with tape with moderate force, not too tight or too loose. Also pay attention to exposing the leaf buds, so that the grafting is completed and it will survive soon. |
