Why do orange trees drop leaves?

1. Excessive watering

Solution: Choose a pot that is the right size for your orange tree and a soil that is breathable and well-drained. Do not water too much at ordinary times to avoid water accumulation.

2. Excessive Fertilization

Cause: Too much fertilizer, or the fertilizer itself is not fully decomposed, resulting in root burns, which further causes leaf loss.

Solution: Change the soil in time to avoid fertilizer burning the roots. At the same time, choose organic fertilizer that is easily absorbed. Do not apply too much fertilizer at a single time. It is enough to apply it twice a week.

3. Pests and diseases

Reason: Red spider mites are the main pest that causes massive leaf fall. In addition, anthracnose can also cause leaf fall.

Solution: Different pesticides are needed to control different diseases and pests. Red spider mites can be killed with a diluted solution of mite control, and a diluted solution of lime sulfur can be used to eliminate overwintering larvae. Anthracnose needs to be treated by diluting thiophanate-methyl wettable powder with water and spraying it.

4. The temperature is too low

Reason: Mainly, the unseasonal low temperatures can cause leaves to fall.

Solution: For ground plants, you can build a plastic greenhouse around them to keep them warm, and move potted plants into a warm place indoors.
