Tomato, also known as tomatoes, is a herbaceous plant of the Solanaceae family, Solanaceae family, and Lycopersicon genus. It can be sown in spring and autumn, usually in mid-February to early March, and can also be sown in late July to early August.

1. Sowing method: Tomatoes can usually be broadcast, row-sown and spot-sown. After each sowing, a 1 cm layer of soil needs to be covered. You can also mix the wettable powder of carbendazim with fine soil and sprinkle it on the bed. This can reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests. Seedlings can be covered with mulch in winter and with shade nets or straw in summer. The covering needs to be removed later.

2. Seedbed: Tomatoes are suitable for planting in loose, fertile, wind-sheltered and sunny areas with flat terrain. The seeds need to be watered thoroughly after sowing and maintained in semi-shade. The seedlings can be transplanted when they grow to about 5 cm, and they need to be transplanted when they are 25 cm tall.

Tomatoes ripe for harvest

It takes 110-170 days from sowing to harvesting tomatoes. If sown in spring, they can be harvested in June-August. The yield of tomatoes is related to variety, planting site and planting technology. If it is cultivated in an unlimited growth greenhouse, its yield is higher, reaching 10,000-12,000 kilograms. If it is cultivated in a self-sealing open-air environment, the yield per mu is 3,000-4,000 kilograms.
