How to grow pomegranate flowers in autumn

How to grow pomegranate flowers in autumn

1. Supplement nutrients

Autumn is the time when pomegranates bloom and bear fruit. Flowering and fruiting basically consume all of its nutrients, so the most important thing to do at this time is to increase its nutrition, otherwise its growth next year will not be optimistic. When applying fertilizer, focus on foliar fertilizer. It is best to use organic fertilizer in combination with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

2. Pruning

After picking the pomegranates, there will be many old branches and diseased branches. Although these branches are useless, they still consume nutrients, so it is necessary to cut off all these branches at this time to concentrate the nutrients and supply them to healthy branches. When trimming, it is not suitable to cut long, but should be cut short. After trimming is completed, the incision must be protected to avoid bacterial invasion.

3. Spraying anther

In order to prevent diseases and pests, after pruning is completed, the plants need to be sprayed with pesticides and the cuts need to be disinfected. You can choose carbendazim as the medicine. Carbendazim has good efficacy and few side effects. When using it, dilute the medicine with water first, and then spray it. The best time to spray is in the morning or afternoon, avoiding strong sunlight.

4. Keep warm

In winter, the roots and stems of pomegranate flowers are easily frozen, so in late autumn, it is necessary to take measures to keep them warm. You can wrap the autumn plant with old cotton wool, or you can add soil to its rhizomes. The thickness of the soil should not exceed 30 centimeters. After the spring, you should spread the soil in time to avoid the growth of side buds and affect the growth of the main branches.
