Breeding methods and precautions of Guangdong Evergreen

Breeding methods and precautions of Guangdong Evergreen

1. Soil

It is recommended to choose acidic loam with good permeability and nutrition for the soil in the flowerpot. A layer of stones and small bricks can be placed at the bottom of the flowerpot to make it permeable.

2. Lighting

It prefers bright places and is particularly shade-tolerant. It is recommended to place it in a place where it can absorb scattered light and avoid direct high-intensity sunlight. Too strong sunlight will cause the leaves to dry out and the edges to turn yellow, so shading should be started in early spring.

3. Temperature

It is very cold-intolerant, and the general wintering temperature must not be lower than 5℃-8℃, but the wintering temperature of some varieties cannot be lower than 18℃.

4. Watering

It likes a warm growing environment and is afraid of drought. In the summer, when the temperature is high and the water demand is high, you can water it once 1-2 days, but be careful not to store water. When the weather becomes dry, you can spray some water on the leaves. In winter, you should reduce the number of watering.

5. Fertilization

In spring and autumn, you can apply decomposed cake fertilizer water once every 3-4 weeks. This will make the plants grow healthier and the leaves more colorful. During the growth period, you can apply liquid fertilizer once every 2 weeks.

6. Notes

Guangdong evergreen is particularly afraid of water retention. Its roots are fleshy and will rot easily if there is too much water. During daily maintenance, just ensure that the loam is warm. Remember to water it at night in winter. The temperature at night will be much lower than that during the day. Watering at night will freeze the roots and rhizomes.
