How to propagate the saffron vine

The fragrant vine is native to the tropical America and has the characteristics of tropical plants. It likes light and a warm and humid growing environment. The propagation method of the fragrant vine is cuttings, which requires methods such as branch processing, cutting methods and planting and maintenance.

There are two suitable times for cuttings every year, one is between May and June in spring, and the other is between September and October in autumn. Generally speaking, when the temperature is between 15 degrees and 28 degrees, the fragrant vine can be cut. The time for cuttings of the fragrant vine may be different in regions with different temperatures.

Cutting method of fragrant vine

When cuttings of the fragrant vine, use semi-lignified branches that have flowered that year. It is best not to use branches that have only recently flowered as cuttings. It is best to choose thicker ones so that the new buds have strong germination ability, grow fast in the later stage, and are easy to bloom. Soak the wounds on the stems of the fragrant vine with a solution of carbendazim to prevent rot and rooting.

In order to improve the rooting rate and promote root survival, it is best to soak the cuttings in a solution of carbendazim and a solution of rooting powder, and then immediately carry out cuttings. When cutting the fragrant vine, it is recommended to choose a mixture of coarse sand, vermiculite, perlite and peat soil. Be careful not to press hard when inserting the fragrant vine, but do it gently. After the cutting is completed, place it in a cool and well-ventilated place.
