Breeding methods and precautions of succulent fire fox

Fire Fox is a very easy-to-grow succulent. The cultivation method is relatively simple and easy to learn, and most varieties can be managed in a rough manner. Choose loose and breathable soil, and do a good job of watering, light, temperature, and fertilizing. The succulent will grow more and more vigorously and have a high ornamental value.

How to cultivate succulent fire fox

There are four basic steps in caring for the succulent Fire Fox: repotting, watering, temperature, and light. Repot it every 1-2 years, loosen the soil every period of time, maintain the most suitable growth temperature of 20-28 degrees all year round, water it appropriately to keep the potting soil slightly moist, and keep it in sunlight for 8-10 hours a day to promote the growth of branches and leaves.

1. Soil

The succulent Fire Fox likes to grow in a dry soil environment, mainly loose and breathable sandy soil, because such soil has relatively good drainage and air permeability, and is more suitable for succulent growth. It is best to replace the potting soil of the succulent Fire Fox bought from the flower market, otherwise the soil that comes with it is not suitable for its healthy growth.

2. Temperature

It is very important to maintain a suitable growth temperature for the succulent Fire Fox. Generally, 15 to 25 degrees is the most suitable temperature for its growth. However, as long as the temperature is not higher than 35 degrees and not lower than 5 degrees, most succulents will not enter a dormant period and will still grow normally.

3. Moisture

The leaves of the succulent fire fox are relatively thick and have a certain water storage capacity, so the water requirement is not high. Generally, it can be watered relatively frequently in spring and autumn, about once a week, about half a month in summer, and about once a month in winter.

4. Lighting

The succulent fire fox also has certain requirements for light. It likes sunny weather. If it can be guaranteed to receive sufficient light for more than 8 hours a day, the succulent fire fox will grow very beautifully. Therefore, in spring, autumn and winter, you can just place it on the south-facing balcony or windowsill for maintenance.

5. Change the soil regularly

For caring for succulents, you can choose some small and exquisite but water-permeable and breathable pots, such as some clay pots and tile pots. If conditions permit, you can also use purple clay pots, which will be more breathable and ornamental.

Precautions for the maintenance of succulent fire fox

When caring for the succulent Fire Fox, you should pay attention to the high temperatures in summer, as it is prone to disease and insect pests. You need to strengthen ventilation and spray pesticides in time when you find diseases and insect pests. Replace the potting soil every 1-2 years to avoid soil compaction that is not conducive to root growth. If the plant grows too tall and becomes unsightly, you can cut off its head, and the cut off head can be used to propagate new plants through cuttings.
