Cultivation methods and precautions of baby's breath

Cultivation methods and precautions of baby's breath

Gypsophila paniculata is a relatively easy plant to grow. It is usually planted in spring or autumn and it is easy to bloom. Basically, it will bloom by just scattering some seeds. It is very simple to maintain.

How to grow baby's breath

1. Soil

Baby's breath has relatively high requirements for soil. It prefers loose, breathable, and slightly alkaline soil. If you grow it yourself, you can use perlite, peat soil, and sandy soil to prepare it.

2. Watering

When watering baby's breath, just water it when the soil is dry and then water it when it is wet. This plant has a certain degree of drought resistance and can also tolerate moisture as long as there is no water accumulation for a long time.

3. Fertilization

The plant of baby's breath has a long flowering period and grows fast. It does not require much nutrients. You can use more nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers at ordinary times, about once every half a month.

4. Lighting

Gypsophila prefers a growing environment with sufficient light, and can also grow well in a full-sun environment. It is recommended that there should be no less than 3 hours of light per day during maintenance.

Precautions for the maintenance of baby's breath

During the maintenance of baby's breath, you must be careful not to water it too much. Watering should follow the principle of "watering when dry and watering when wet". Generally, when the plant grows to about 30 cm, it is no longer necessary to water it.
