What soil is best for growing tiger lilies?

Tiger Skin Orchid is a very popular green plant, but some friends don’t know much about the soil for growing Tiger Skin Orchid. The more fertile the soil is not necessarily better. The roots of Tiger Skin Orchid are very short and very weak, and are suitable for softer soil.

Soil for Tiger Piranha

It is best to choose loose, fertile, well-drained sandy soil for Sansevieria. It is relatively soft and rich in nutrients, which can provide nutrients for the growth of the plant and help it grow better. Using it can also prevent root rot caused by waterlogging in the soil.

Method of soil preparation for tiger lily

1. Garden soil + coconut coir + organic fertilizer: The soil for Sansevieria can be made of three parts garden soil, one part coconut coir, and an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer. Coconut coir does not contain nutrients, and the nutrient content in garden soil is also limited, so it is necessary to add an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer. This kind of soil has good permeability and allows the roots of Sansevieria to grasp the soil, making it not easy to tilt.

2. Humus + river sand + nutrient soil: You can mix one part humus, one part river sand and one part nutrient soil and then plant them. The combined nutrient content of humus and nutrient soil is enough to meet the needs of Sansevieria for a period of time. However, since these two materials are too soft, add river sand to increase the quality and permeability of the soil.

3. Garden soil + humus soil: Mix one part of garden soil and one part of humus soil and then plant it. This is the simplest soil preparation method. Sansevieria grows slowly and does not require much nutrients. In addition, the root system of Sansevieria is relatively weak, so no matter how much nutrients are applied, it cannot be absorbed quickly. In the later stage, applying water-soluble fertilizer once a month can meet the growth needs.

Sansevieria soil replacement

When changing the soil of Sansevieria, first loosen the soil with a knife or scissors, then tilt the flowerpot to let the plant out, separate the old soil from the roots of the plant, and then use scissors to cut off the rotten roots and old roots. It is best to soak the roots with sterilizer for a period of time, disinfect the prepared new soil in advance, then put it in the new pot, and place the plant upright.
