How to plant aster seeds

How to plant aster seeds

If you want to collect aster seeds, they are usually harvested from May to October every year. Before harvesting, you need to select mature flowers, and then harvest and dry them together with the seed pods.

It is not difficult to sow aster seeds. You just need to spread them evenly in the soil, cover them with 1-2 cm of soil, then press the soil lightly with a tool and water it thoroughly.

Aster seeds sowing time

Aster seeds are best planted in spring and autumn. The plant prefers a warm, humid, sunny growing environment, and has poor cold and heat resistance. Therefore, the climate in spring and autumn is most suitable for seed germination, which can achieve the highest germination rate.

How to plant aster seeds

1. Soil environment

Asters are more suitable for growing in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Note that the land needs to be prepared before sowing to make the soil softer, then apply enough base fertilizer, and finally rake and level the soil.

2. Sowing method

The seeds of aster are relatively large and can be sown by spot sowing. The seeds should not be buried too deep during sowing, otherwise it will be difficult for the seeds to germinate. Cover the soil after sowing and water them appropriately to facilitate better germination of the seeds.
