How to make Phalaenopsis bloom more

How to make Phalaenopsis bloom more

Maintenance tips:

Generally speaking, new Phalaenopsis orchids need to be cultivated for 3 months before their flower buds sprout, providing the possibility for flowering.

Temperature is the main reason that affects the differentiation and formation of Phalaenopsis flower buds. Not only a certain annual accumulated temperature is required, but also short-term low-temperature treatment is required.

After the arrival of late autumn, the cultivation environment must be kept at a temperature of 15-18℃ at night to allow the flower buds to differentiate normally. Then, if the temperature is below zero for about 18 hours every day for one and a half months, the seedlings will sprout many flower buds.

Next, the night temperature should be kept between 18-20℃, and bright flowers will bloom after 3-4 months of growth.

Because Phalaenopsis has a long flowering period, it is better to cut the flower stalks early to make cut flowers, so that it can bloom again in the same year.

Of course, different varieties of Phalaenopsis have different flowering times. Usually, each pedicel can produce more than a dozen flowers, which bloom in sequence from bottom to top. Each branch of flowers can bloom for more than a month.

Reasonable fertilization:

In order to make the flowers bloom more luxuriantly, liquid fertilizer can be sprayed on the leaves and roots during the growth period.

Fertilize usually every 3-4 weeks in spring. Stop fertilizing after the flowering period, and fertilize once every 10 days after the flowers fall. Choose liquid fertilizer with high phosphorus and potassium content. Apply fertilizer in small amounts and at a low concentration.

Summer is the peak growth season for Phalaenopsis. You can apply solid organic fertilizer on the pot surface once, and then apply liquid fertilizer once a week.

In autumn, as the temperature drops, fertilization is reduced until fertilization stops at the end of October.
