Cultivation methods and precautions of Chlorophytum comosum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Chlorophytum comosum

Chlorophytum comosum is an easy plant to grow, but it grows much slower and weaker than other spider plants. If you grow it at home, you need to treat it differently and provide it with a suitable growing environment.

How to grow Chlorophytum comosum

1. Lighting

Chlorophytum comosum likes light, so it needs to be placed in a place with scattered light for maintenance. It also needs appropriate shade in summer, and can be given full sun in winter.

2. Temperature

During the maintenance period of Chlorophytum comosum, it is best to provide it with a growth temperature of 20-25℃. At this temperature, the plant grows fastest. The wintering temperature cannot be lower than 6℃.

3. Watering

When watering the Chlorophytum comosum, you should "water it when the soil is dry and water it when the soil is wet". Never allow water to accumulate in the soil, otherwise it may cause the death of the plant.

4. Fertilization

The demand for fertilizer of Chlorophytum comosum is not particularly high. If it is planted in leaf mold, it does not need a large amount of fertilizer in the early stage. Just give it a thin layer of fertilizer occasionally.

5. Reproduction

The growth of Chlorophytum comosum is very vigorous. It can usually be propagated using creeping branches. It can be propagated by planting it directly in the soil.

Precautions for the maintenance of Chlorophytum comosum

The maintenance of the curled-leaf spider plant is similar to that of the ordinary spider plant. Generally, it does not require special care. Do not give it special care. Otherwise, the more special care you give it, the worse its growth will be.
