When is the rice harvested?

When is the rice harvested?

Rice is a very important economic crop in my country. Farmers will plant rice every planting season. In the past two years, the rice output has far exceeded the market demand, and the planting efficiency has been continuously improving.

A season of rice matures

The maturity time of a season of rice is related to the planting area, and there are certain differences between the south and the north. Generally, in the north, it can be sown before Qingming Festival, with a growing period of 104 days, and it will mature in early August. In the south, early-maturing rice can generally be sown in mid-April, transplanted in May, and mature in late July.

Rice harvest

The harvest time for a season of rice is from July to October every year. The harvest time varies depending on the rice variety and the planting area. For example, the Jiangsu area generally harvests in early October, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River plain harvests in late July, and the rice planted in the northern region generally matures and is harvested in early August.

One-season rice production area and yield

Single-season rice likes to grow in places with sufficient rainfall and suitable temperature. India and China are the most suitable places for planting it. Now Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Henan and other places in my country are key areas for rice production. Moreover, planting technology is gradually maturing and the yield per mu is gradually increasing.

The yield of one season of rice is about 600 kilograms per mu, and the yield of different varieties varies greatly. Generally speaking, conventional high-quality rice yields about 400 kilograms per mu, hybrid rice yields about 550 kilograms per mu, and super rice varieties yield more than 800 kilograms per mu.
