Trout Begonia Breeding Methods and Precautions

Trout Begonia Breeding Methods and Precautions

The maintenance difficulty of trout begonia is relatively easy and it is not difficult to grow. It prefers bright scattered light and can grow well on the east-facing windowsill. It has a certain shade tolerance and can grow normally as long as it is not kept in a dark place for a long time.

How to grow trout begonias

1. Lighting

Trout begonia prefers a brighter and well-lit environment, which can make its leaves more glossy and shiny. In summer, it must be shaded and it is recommended to be placed in an area with good diffuse light.

2. Soil

Trout begonia has relatively low requirements for soil, and can be grown in ordinary soil. You can choose soil with good air permeability and looseness. You can mix river sand with leaf mold and garden soil.

3. Watering

Trout begonias have a relatively high demand for water. When caring for trout begonias, the soil needs to be kept moist. Sufficient water can make them grow more lustrous.

4. Temperature

The temperature that is most suitable for the growth of trout begonia is 18-25 degrees. If the temperature is too high, the trout begonia will stop growing. If the temperature is below 10 degrees, it will be frostbitten and even cause the death of the plant.

Trout Begonia Care Precautions

When caring for trout begonias, you need to pay attention to supplementing nutrients. When fertilizing, you need to pay attention to applying thin fertilizers. It is best to use nitrogen fertilizers, which can promote the growth of leaves. If phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are applied before the flowering period of trout begonias, the number of flowers can be increased.
