Grape grafting method

Grape grafting method

Grapes are one of the four major fruits in the world. They are very common in the market. There are many varieties of grapes, and they have a sweet taste, so they are loved by many consumers.

Driven by the overall market demand, the grape planting industry in my country is currently very hot, and the planting areas are relatively wide. When planting grapes, the grafting method is generally used, which can produce more delicious fruits.

Grape grafting time

The time for grafting grape vines is generally from May to June every year. Grafting is done during this period because the surrounding climate is relatively mild and suitable, the temperature is relatively high, and the humidity is relatively appropriate, which is conducive to the survival of the grape vines after grafting.

Grape grafting technology

1. Cleft grafting

Pick healthy one-year-old grape branches, cut the bottom flat, then cut the rootstock into a wedge shape and apply wax on the wound. After the processed branches, insert them into the rootstock and tie them tightly. The grape grafting is completed.

2. Cutting

Grape grafting is the same as ordinary cutting. Make full use of the length between grape nodes to create a larger healing surface. At 1/3 of the scion, use a blade to slide straight from bottom to top to the bud node, corresponding to the rootstock, and wrap the scion and rootstock tightly.
