How to plant honeysuckle seeds

It is best to plant honeysuckle seeds in April each year. The weather at this time is more suitable for the growth of honeysuckle, so the survival rate is also the highest. Honeysuckle seeds like sunlight and are suitable for a moist and mild planting environment. They have strong adaptability and are cold-resistant and drought-resistant. They do not have too many requirements for land and soil, and are suitable for planting in most areas.

Honeysuckle seed planting steps

Planting honeysuckle seeds is relatively simple. First, soak the honeysuckle seeds in 35℃ warm water for 15-20 hours. Take them out and mix them with wet sand. Place them at room temperature to germinate. Stir once a day. When 30%-40% of the seeds turn white, they can be planted.

Honeysuckle seed planting method

1. Ground planting: For ground planting of honeysuckle seeds, first choose a gently sloping land that is sheltered from the wind and facing the sun. It should be open and flat with a relatively deep soil layer, fertile, loose, breathable and well-drained sandy loam. Apply 2000 kg of fully decomposed organic fertilizer per acre of land, and then plow and harrow it to make low or high ridges with a width of 1.2 meters. Then dig furrows and sow seeds. The soil should not be too thick, 1 centimeter is enough. Keep spraying water every 2 days. Generally, seedlings will emerge in about 10 days, and they can be transplanted in the autumn of the same year or the spring of the second year.

2. Potted plants: When planting honeysuckle seeds in pots, you need to choose a breathable and well-drained pot. Then put the prepared soil into the pot, dig a hole in the middle of the soil, put the processed seeds in it, cover with a thin layer of soil, and water it thoroughly.
