How to plant litchi seeds

The fruit of lychee usually matures in April and May every spring. After the fruit of lychee matures, the seeds are harvested. Because its seeds cannot be stored for a long time, they should be sown at the same time when they are harvested.

Due to the different climatic environments across the country, the maturity period of litchi trees is also different, so the specific sowing time needs to take into account local conditions and be adapted to local conditions. Everything must be based on the local climate.

Lychee seed sowing time

Lychee seeds can be planted in spring from March to June or in autumn from August to September. The mild and suitable climate in spring and autumn can promote seed germination and growth. However, the best time to plant lychees is in spring from March to April because it is easiest to take root at this time.

Lychee seed planting method

First, prepare a flower pot with strong air permeability as a container for seedlings, fill it with some soft and breathable soil, and then prepare plump, healthy and intact lychee seeds. Before planting, you need to clean the seeds, and then soak the lychee seeds in clean water for several days. Basically, change the water every 2 days. After the seed skin cracks, take out the seeds and dry them, put them on the prepared soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Note that when sowing, the cracked end of the seed coat should face upwards to facilitate germination.
