Cultivation methods and precautions of golden dog fern

The golden dog fern is a relatively easy-to-grow fern. It has a very short root system and can generally survive as long as there is sufficient water. Among the ferns currently available on the market, this fern is relatively easy to maintain, and the leaves of this fern are also the most beautiful.

How to grow golden fern

1. Soil

The golden dog fern likes loose, breathable, and slightly acidic soil rich in humus. The pH value suitable for its growth is between 6.0-6.5. Be careful not to use northern garden soil. It is best to use a mixture of peat soil and sand, or a mixture of leaf mold, sand, and perlite.

2. Outdoor farming

If you want to maintain it outdoors, you must pay attention to the high transpiration rate outdoors and the rapid evaporation of water. In summer, you must replenish water in time. It is best to water it once in the morning and once in the evening.

3. Indoor farming

If you want to keep it indoors, you must pay attention to the poor indoor ventilation, which is not suitable for the growth of ferns, so ventilation must be strengthened. If you turn on the air conditioner, do not place it directly facing the air conditioner, and follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and wet to avoid excessive watering and the breeding of bacteria.

Precautions for the maintenance of golden dog fern

1. Daily watering

Normally, unless there are special circumstances, we can use a spray to spray water on the leaves of the golden dog fern. This can increase the humidity of the micro-environment and avoid the leaves from drying out due to excessive transpiration.

2. Ventilation

An environment that is too stuffy and humid can easily breed bacteria, especially in the summer, which can easily cause fungal infections, causing the plants to suffer from soft rot, stem rot, root rot, etc. Therefore, attention should be paid to ventilation and convection, so that diseases will rarely occur.
