How to plant creeping grass seeds

How to plant creeping grass seeds

1. Planting conditions

1. Moisture

The creeping grass has a strong reproduction ability and a strong growth ability. There is no specific requirement for moisture when sowing. It just needs to be moist and mild, not too dry.

2. Soil

The creeping osmanthus is a kind of herb that is not picky about water and soil. It can survive in ordinary healthy soil. You can choose sandy soil with good drainage, or you can choose loose soil and high nutrient content of rural planting soil. Of course, seeds need a lot of nutrients during the germination period, and poor soil is not acceptable.

3. Temperature

Because the seeds of creeping grass have strong vitality, they can be sown in spring, summer and autumn. They do not have high temperature requirements and can be planted at normal room temperature of 15 to 30 degrees. Too low temperature will reduce the activity of the seeds, so try to avoid winter.

4. Seed collection

The creeping sedge blooms in summer and produces seeds in autumn. Seeds can be collected around September every year. If you don't sow immediately, store it in a sealed paper box and it can be used after the winter.

2. Sowing steps

1. During the period of vigorous growth of creeping grass, its branches and leaves will extend out of the pot, forming a "hanging pot" effect, so when planting, try to choose a hanging pot or other container to ensure normal drainage function and prevent excessive waterlogging due to drainage in the later stage. You can also put a tile under the flower pot to improve drainage.

2. You can choose to buy nutrient soil, or you can use garden soil, yellow sand, and fine sawdust to prepare the nutrient soil yourself. Put soil into the pot and cover it.

3. Use sprinkler irrigation to keep the soil moist, and do not flush it directly with water.

4. If it is planted in summer, do not expose it to direct sunlight. You can put it in a cool and ventilated place and wait for germination. If it is planted in autumn, you can expose it to the sun regularly, but pay attention to wind protection.
