Orchid planting methods and precautions

Orchid planting methods and precautions

When growing orchids, you need to water the plants every 3 days and fertilize them once every 20 days to provide the orchids with sufficient fertilizer and water. Then place the orchids in a diffused light and ventilated environment so that they receive at least 6 hours of light.

Orchid growth habits

Orchids are suitable for growing in loose, breathable and fertile soil. When cultivating orchids, it is necessary to use a mixture of leaf mold, sandy soil and garden soil, and add potassium permanganate solution into the soil to disinfect and sterilize it, which is conducive to the healthy growth of orchids.

Orchid Planting Methods

1. Soil

The soil for growing orchids needs to be loose and breathable to be conducive to the growth of orchids. Nutrients can be supplied by decayed leaves. Trees provide shade in summer and fallen leaves provide warmth in winter.

Orchid seeds are relatively small. Place them on the culture medium in a culture bottle. After 14 days of inoculation, the seeds will gradually swell. After 90 days, the orchid seeds can be transplanted.

Orchid cultivation precautions

1. Lighting

In summer, orchids should be placed in a cool, dark place to avoid direct sunlight. In winter, they should be given full sunlight.

2. Watering

During the growing season of orchids, you should water them according to the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet. You can water them every 7 days. In summer, you should increase the frequency of watering appropriately.
