How to water cyclamen during its dormant period

How to water cyclamen during its dormant period

1. Watering in summer

Watering should be determined according to its growing period. Usually during the summer dormancy period, its growth becomes slow. At this time, the amount of watering needs to be controlled. Just pour a little water along the edge of the pot to keep the soil moist. Never water too much. In addition, when it rains, do not let it be exposed to the rain. If it is accidentally wet, the rainwater in the pot must be drained in time to prevent the roots from rotting.

2. Watering in Autumn

When the temperature drops in autumn, it will start to grow new leaves. At this time, we need to increase the amount of watering and apply some compound fertilizer to it. When buds appear in November, you should reduce watering, because if you water too much at this time, the leaves and pedicels will start to grow too long and fall over. In addition, when watering, do not pour water directly on its leaves, flowers, and bulbs, otherwise they will rot.

3. Other maintenance during dormancy

When it is in a dormant period, in addition to watering it appropriately, other maintenance should also be done. First, we can take out the bulbs and refrigerate them when it is in a dormant period. After this period of time, we can replant it. Secondly, when it is dormant, you can keep it in the pot and maintain it. There is no need to take out the bulbs. Let it continue to be dormant. At this time, you need to reduce watering so that it can pass the dormant period.
