Cultivation methods and precautions of Monstera

Monstera deliciosa itself grows in tropical regions. The plant has strong adaptability to the environment, is not demanding on soil, prefers a humid environment, and is not difficult to maintain.

Cultivation method of Monstera

1. Soil

Monstera has very high requirements for soil. It is recommended not to use ordinary garden soil. It is best to use a mixture of leaf mold, sandy soil, garden soil, etc.

2. Lighting

Monstera deliciosa is not very demanding in terms of light. It can be placed on the balcony or near a south-facing floor-to-ceiling window, as long as there is scattered light.

3. Fertilization

Normally, you need to apply some organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer to Monstera. During the peak growth season of the plant, you should also apply some diluted urea to make its leaves more beautiful.

4. Moisture

Monstera deliciosa likes a humid growing environment. The leaves of the plant are large, the evaporation is large, and its demand for water is also very high. It must be replenished with water in time during maintenance.

5. Temperature

When the temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees, it is the peak growth period of Monstera deliciosa. The plant is not very cold-resistant. You need to keep it warm in winter to prevent the plant from being blown by cold wind.

Monstera deliciosa care precautions

Monstera deliciosa grows very fast and consumes a lot of nutrients, so try to change its potting soil once a year. When repotting, prepare new nutrient soil for the plant, cut off damaged roots, and add an appropriate amount of decomposed organic fertilizer to the bottom of the pot.
