Murraya Osmanthus Planting Soil

Osmanthus fragrans has a wide adaptability to soil and prefers loose, fertile, humus-rich sandy soil. Moreover, Osmanthus fragrans is a southern tree species and prefers slightly acidic soil, so some attention needs to be paid when preparing the soil.

Method of preparing soil for Osmanthus fragrans

1. The soil for Osmanthus fragrans can generally be mixed with pine needle soil, nutrient soil, sand, and Akadama soil in a ratio of 3:5:1:1. At the same time, a layer of humus is laid on the drainage layer at the bottom of the flowerpot to act as a slow-release fertilizer, continuously improve the soil quality, and balance the consumption and output of the soil.

2. The soil for Osmanthus fragrans can be prepared with sandy loam, fine slag, cake fertilizer residue, pond mud, peat soil and river sand in the ratio of 7:1:2:5:4:1. A simpler way is to use a mixture of mountain mud and fine sand. Broken tiles can be placed at the bottom of the pot to improve drainage. Since sand does not contain nutrients, base fertilizer should also be applied at the bottom of the pot.

3. If you can only find common planting materials, the soil for Osmanthus fragrans can be mixed with peat soil, perlite, coconut block and expanded clay in a ratio of 7:1:1:1. Such soil is loose and breathable, which is good for the growth of Osmanthus fragrans.
