Can rice bran be used to grow flowers (can rice bran be cooked and fermented and put into a flower pot to grow flowers)

Rice bran is a byproduct of rice, wheat and other cereal grains. The rice is processed by a rice peeling machine and divided into 37 and 28. The rice grains without rice grains are processed into powder. The price is cheap and belongs to the bran category. Some flower friends asked if rice bran can be used as nutrient soil for growing flowers?

Can you grow flowers by putting rice bran in the soil?

After the rice bran is cooked, you can plant flowers , but there is still an important step required. Only after performing the following important step can you plant flowers. Let me share it with you briefly.

There are more and more techniques and methods for growing flowers now, such as growing flowers with beer, fruit peels, peanut shells, soybeans, bean cakes, rice water, etc. The principle of growing flowers with rice bran is the same.

Rice bran contains a large amount of vitamins, trace elements, cellulose, etc., which are all nutrients needed for the growth of flowers.

However, when using rice bran to grow flowers, an important step is required after cooking, which is fermentation and composting. I will briefly share this with you below.

First, cook

Cook the rice bran, pour it into a pot, add water and cook it, then cool it down before fermenting.

Second, fermentation

The cooked rice bran can be used for fermentation. You need to prepare some plastic bottles and water, and put the cooked rice bran into the bottles.

Then add an appropriate amount of water, fill the bottle until it is 90% full, leaving some space because gas will be produced during fermentation.

The most suitable fermentation temperature is below 30 degrees, and the best temperature is around 25 degrees. Since rice bran has good fermentation properties, it will generally be filled with gas in one day.

You can open the bottle every day to release the gas and let in oxygen, which can promote yeast fermentation.

The fermentation time is about 1 month. After fermentation, it can be used to grow flowers . The process is the same as the soybean fermentation shown in the figure below.

Third, grow flowers after fermentation

Sawdust can be fermented to grow flowers, and rice bran can be fermented to grow flowers. It can be used as fertilizer or mixed in nutrient soil as base fertilizer .

The method is also very simple. The precipitated sediment can be directly buried in the soil as fertilizer. The fermented solution can be diluted with water and poured on the soil, which can also serve as fertilization, equivalent to nutrient solution.

Since it is rich in many nutrients that flowers need, flowers will grow better if they are grown with fermented rice bran.

Why must rice bran be fermented before growing flowers?

The main reason is that if it is cooked without fermentation and is used directly to grow flowers and buried in the soil of a flowerpot, it will also undergo a fermentation process.

The fermentation process will generate heat, which may affect the root system, and in severe cases, it may burn the root system and kill the flowers. Therefore, the fermentation process must be carried out first.
