Watering methods and precautions for Tiger Pilan

Tiger orchid, which we often call tiger skin orchid, is also called tiger tail orchid. It is named because of the stripes on its leaves that resemble the stripes on tiger skin.

Tiger Skin Plant is beautiful and graceful in shape. It is a foliage plant with great ornamental value. Watering of Tiger Skin Plant is very particular. The reason why many people cannot grow Tiger Skin Plant well is because of watering problems . Let me share with you briefly below.

Tiger Pilan is a desert plant that likes drought and is afraid of moisture. When watering, pay attention to the following points:

1. Don’t water unless the soil is dry

If the soil of the Sansevieria is not completely dry, try not to water it and keep it slightly dry. Sansevieria should be watered at least once a week, and the longest time can be as long as once every half a month to a month.

Be careful not to water frequently. Sansevieria cannot tolerate moisture, and waterlogging in the soil will cause the roots to rot. Many people have killed their Sansevieria by overwatering.

2. Water without watering the heart of the leaves

When watering the Tiger Piranha, be careful not to water the center of the leaves. This shape of the Tiger Piranha is extremely prone to water accumulation in the center of the leaves, which will cause the leaves to rot.

Especially when it is hot and humid in summer, you should avoid watering the center of the leaves. Just water the soil. Water thoroughly without water accumulation.

3. The leaves are mainly used for wiping

Since the leaves cannot be wetted by water, what should you do if they are covered with dust? In fact, you can just wipe them with a wet towel, which can not only wipe off the dust but also replenish moisture.

If it is a cool season with good ventilation, you can use a spray to clean the leaves.

How to judge when to water

(1) You can knock on the flower pot and listen to the sound. If the sound is crisp, the soil in the pot is relatively dry. If the sound is dull, it means there is enough water and the soil is relatively moist .

(2) You can also tell whether the plant needs watering by observing the leaves. If the leaves are emerald green and full in shape, then it does not need watering. If the leaves are soft and spread out, then it does need watering.

(3) Pick up the flower pot and weigh it to see if it is heavy. If it is light, the soil is dry. If it is heavy, the soil is moist and no watering is needed.
