Can Chinese toon trees be planted in winter?

Generally, the best time to transplant Chinese toon trees is between November and April of the following year , when the trees are dormant and have not yet sprouted.   Toon trees are generally sown from April to May, and seedlings can be transplanted in autumn and winter. The root seedlings can be dug in early spring and planted in the nursery, and they will grow to about 2m in the second year before planting.

The length of the ridge depends on the degree of collapse of the shed, and is 80-100 cm away from the north wall.

Seedling grading

The seedlings should be dug up in late October, and as many roots as possible should be brought along. The taproot length should be no less than 40 cm, and the root length should be no less than 30 cm. The seedlings should be graded as they are dug up, generally divided into three levels: less than 50 cm, 50-100 cm, and more than 100 cm.

After tying each level into bundles, place them in a cool place for transplanting. At this time, you need to cultivate the soil, irrigate with enough water, and do not let the roots dry out. Transplanting

Management after transplanting

After transplanting the Chinese toon seedlings, it is winter. The temperature in the greenhouse should be raised to no less than 20-25℃ during the day and no less than 12℃ at night to facilitate the germination of the toon buds. Water the shed with small amounts of water every 10-20 days. Flooding with large amounts of water is strictly prohibited. You can also use a sprayer to spray water on the stems to improve the quality of the toon buds.

After the Chinese toon seedlings enter the room, they mainly rely on their own nutrition and do not require much fertilizer. A small amount of nitrogen fertilizer can be applied after each budding, and no more than 10 kg of urea per mu each time.

In order to promote the early emergence of the terminal buds of Chinese toon, 500 mg/kg of gibberellin can be sprayed after entering the greenhouse. Generally, the terminal buds begin to germinate around 16 days, and the buds can grow to 20-25 cm around 25 days, and one crop of buds can be harvested.
