Papaya planting time and method

Papaya planting time

The best temperature for papaya planting is between 15-22 degrees. It can be sown in January and February in spring and winter. The germination rate is highest at this time, which can promote the seeds to take root and germinate quickly.

If planted in the northern region, you need to build a shed for sowing so that the seeds can take root and germinate. Each time you sow, it will germinate around March.

How to grow papaya

1. Seed treatment

Prepare good quality, plump and healthy papaya seeds in advance, wash them with clean water, and then soak them for about two hours. Place the seeds in a place with scattered light to dry. This way, the survival rate can be improved when sowing, and the seedlings can grow better.

2. Prepare the potting soil

Papaya has a wide adaptability to soil. If you want to plant papaya in a pot, you need to prepare a pot with a diameter of 10 cm and a depth of 8 cm. You also need to use a mixture of leaf mold, pebbles, leaves, etc. as the papaya planting medium, which can promote rooting and germination, and is beneficial to the growth of papaya.

3. Seed sowing

After the preparation work is done, you can directly sow the papaya seeds into the soil and bury the seeds with 2 cm of soil. This will allow the papaya seeds to germinate, otherwise it will be difficult for the seeds to germinate.

Papaya Planting Tips

After planting papaya, you can water it thoroughly to maintain the moisture of the soil. It should also be maintained in a sunny place. The temperature needs to be maintained between 15-22 degrees. After waiting for the papaya seeds to germinate, you can build a frame for it and apply some dilute nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer.
