Raspberry, scientifically known as Rubus rubus, is a deciduous shrub of the genus Rubus in the Rosaceae family. If raspberries are to be transplanted, they can be planted in old mountain orchards or wasteland. Before transplanting, the soil can be finely leveled, and then the remaining tree roots, weeds, stones and other debris can be removed. Raspberry transplanting timeRaspberry transplanting can be done in spring and autumn . If it is spring planting, you need to wait until the soil thaws, which is around March-April. If it is autumn planting, it needs to be done before the soil freezes. How to transplant raspberries1. Remove the pot After about 2 years of cultivation, the original pot is no longer able to sustain its growth and the nutrients in it are exhausted, so it needs to be transplanted. Use a small shovel to circle around the pot to make it easier to take the raspberries out of it . Hold the bottom of the pot with one hand and slowly take the plant out with the other hand. 2. Prune the roots After taking it out of the flowerpot, gently shake off the old soil attached to the roots. Prepare a pair of scissors, sterilize them in advance, and then trim the roots appropriately , remove the old roots, rotten roots, and yellow roots, apply fungicide, and retain healthy roots. 3. Prepare the potting soil There are certain requirements for potting soil. It needs to be breathable, fertile, and well-drained. Humus-rich sandy soil is more suitable . Leaf mold, garden soil, and feces can be used. 4. Planting in pots Before potting, prepare a slightly larger flower pot to ensure that there is enough space for growth. Fill the flower pot with soil, then plant the plant in it , ensuring a certain depth to encourage the root system to stretch out , then slowly compact the soil and pour enough water to ensure it is thoroughly watered. Management of raspberries after transplantingAfter the raspberries are transplanted, they need to be watered thoroughly in time so that the roots of the plants can be more closely integrated with the soil. Give them some scattered light to help them resume growth as soon as possible. You can check their survival rate about a month after transplanting. |
