How to propagate blue snowflakes and how to cultivate them

Blue snow flower can be propagated by cuttings. Cut off annual branches, take 5-15 cm as cuttings, leave 4-6 leaves on the lower part of the cuttings, then plant the cuttings in suitable soil, fill the soil and compact it, water it every 2-3 days, and it will survive.

Cutting time of blue snow flower

The cuttings of blue snowflakes are generally carried out in the two time periods of spring to early summer or late summer to early autumn . The temperature in midsummer and hot summer is high, and the plants are easily infected with bacteria. The temperature in winter is low, the cuttings take root slowly, and the survival rate is low. Therefore, it is not recommended to carry out cuttings in summer and winter.

1. Cuttings processing

   To plant blue snow flowers, the first step is to select suitable branches. Choose one-year-old new branches from the mother plant, cut 5-15 cm as cuttings , cut off the leaves at the bottom of the cuttings, and leave 4-6 leaves.

2. Cutting method

   Sandy soil is best for potting soil. You can first expose it to the sun for a period of time to disinfect it. When taking cuttings, dig holes of appropriate size in the disinfected potting soil , insert the cuttings into the soil , fill the potting soil and gently compact it to make the cuttings stand upright.

Cultivation method of blue snow flower cuttings

1. Lighting

After the blue snow flower cuttings are completed, the flowerpot can be moved to a ventilated place where it can receive sunlight and wait for it to germinate.

2. Watering

While waiting, water the potting soil every 2-3 days to keep it moist. After about a month, the cuttings will begin to grow roots.

3. Fertilization

After confirming that the roots have taken root and survived, you can apply thin fertilizer to ensure sufficient nutrients. This way, the cuttings will grow more vigorously and faster.
