How to grow potted aloe vera? How to grow indoor aloe vera to grow better

Aloe vera is a common potted green plant in our daily life. It is fresh, thick and highly ornamental. There are many varieties of aloe vera. Some varieties of aloe vera can be used to make facial masks, beverages, and as vegetables. Many beauty salons use pure plant masks, which are also aloe vera masks.

Aloe bonsai cultivation method

1. Temperature

When cultivating potted aloe vera, the ambient temperature should be controlled between 15-35 degrees. Generally speaking, spring, autumn and summer can meet its temperature requirements.

The temperature is low in winter, so insulation measures should be taken to keep the ambient temperature no lower than 5 degrees to avoid frost damage.

2. Moisture

Aloe vera requires little water, so usually just keep the soil moist. Water it every 2 days in spring and autumn, every 1-2 days in summer, and less frequently in winter when the temperature is low, watering once every 10-15 days is enough.

3. Fertilization

The fertilizer requirements for potted aloe vera are not high, and you can use the cake fertilizer at home. It is recommended to fertilize once every two months during the growth period, and dilute the cake fertilizer before use.

After entering the early winter season, fertilization should be stopped to avoid fertilizer accumulation at the roots due to excessive fertilization.

4. Change the soil

Generally speaking, the soil in the pot of aloe vera needs to be replaced every 1-2 years. It is recommended to remove the aloe vera in spring and autumn, and prune the roots in time if they are rotten.

Then mix leaf mold, garden soil and sandy soil in a ratio of 4:4:2. After changing the soil, place it in a cool and ventilated place for cultivation.

5. Lighting

Aloe vera cultivation requires a lot of light conditions. It can be kept in sufficient light time in spring and autumn; it should be placed in direct sunlight in winter. In summer, the temperature is high, so it can be exposed to scattered light to avoid strong sunlight to cause sunburn.

What to do if aloe vera grows side shoots crazily

1. Transplantation

If the aloe vera plant starts to grow side shoots crazily, we can wait until the side shoots grow stably and then dig the plant out of the soil.

Then cut off its side buds along the roots of the plant, disinfect and dry the cut, and then transplant it into new soil. This way, a new plant will be formed quickly.

2. Water in time

Aloe vera is a drought-resistant plant, but if it is not watered for a long time and the soil is too dry, it will differentiate side buds to promote its own growth.

So we need to water it in time at this time. However, it is a plant that is not tolerant to waterlogging. When watering it, we must follow the principle of "don't water if it's not dry, and water it thoroughly if it's dry".

3. Exploding growth

Aloe vera is growing side shoots crazily, but growers don’t need to worry too much as this will not affect the health of the plant. We can let it grow in the soil.

Then apply water and fertilizer appropriately and allow it to have sufficient light, so that it will grow vigorously soon and have the effect of bursting the pot.

Is it better to plant aloe vera in the ground or in a pot?

It is better to plant aloe vera in the ground. Generally, aloe vera planted in the ground can better absorb nutrients from the soil, and it can be maintained outdoors because the outdoor temperature and humidity can promote the growth of aloe vera.

Ground-planted aloe vera needs to be fertilized on time. Generally, it has a greater demand for nutrients during its growth period, so fertilizer should be added once a month or so.
