Methods and steps of hydroponic sweet potato cultivation at home hydroponic sweet potato cultivation method

If sweet potatoes sprout at home, it is best to put them in water and never throw them away. Believe me, after they grow for a period of time, you will not regret it.

Hydroponic sweet potato method

1. Choose sweet potatoes

Choose larger sweet potatoes as much as possible, because the nutrients in the early stage mainly rely on their own nutrition supply. If the sweet potatoes are too small and lack nutrients, the viewing period will be greatly shortened.

2. Cleaning

This step is very important. Sweet potatoes must be washed before hydroponics to prevent them from rotting.

3. Container

Sweet potatoes, like taro and ginger, are afraid of rotting in water, so it is best to find a small-diameter glass bottle (not too ugly to affect the ornamental value).

4. Hydroponics

Add some water and put it in the sweet potato. The water level should not be too high, it should be 1/3 of the sweet potato. If conditions permit, you can add some nutrients.

Notes on the maintenance of hydroponic sweet potatoes

1. Water quality

When doing hydroponics, try to use tap water to dry it, and do not use freshly connected water. Because freshly connected tap water contains chlorine, it is not conducive to the growth of plants. However, tap water that has been dried can be absorbed and utilized by plants.

Tap water contains a lot of trace elements and is the best hydroponic medium. During the growth process, there is no need to change the water, just add water and keep the water level constant.

2. Lighting

Hydroponic sweet potatoes require greater light to meet their requirements, and growing sweet potatoes requires all-day light.

3. Temperature

Sweet potatoes need a growth temperature of no less than 20 degrees to grow normally. When it is below 20 degrees Celsius, their growth is very slow or even stops.

4. Fertilization

Sweet potato hydroponics does not require too many nutrients, and the nutrients in the water can basically meet its needs. When fertilizing, fertilize once a month and drip liquid fertilizer into the water every month. Excessive fertilization will increase its metabolic burden and affect growth.
