How to grow Rudbeckia

1. Soil

Rudbeckia can basically adapt to all soil types, but in order to grow better, it is recommended to use fertile, loose sandy loam for maintenance. This way, the air permeability and drainage are very good. It is best to apply an appropriate amount of base fertilizer before planting to ensure nutrients.

2. Watering

During breeding management, water should be applied when the soil is dry and when the soil is wet. More water is needed during the peak growing season, so the amount of water should be increased appropriately. Keep the soil moist during the bud formation period, and reduce the moisture level after flowering. It is best to control the water.

3. Fertilization

During the growth period, a lot of nutrients are needed, so fertilizer should be supplemented, and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer should be selected. Stop applying nitrogen fertilizer before flowering, and apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote flowering. There is no need to fertilize in winter because growth almost stops.

4. Temperature

During normal maintenance, just provide a temperature between 10 and 30 degrees to extend the flowering time. In the hot summer, keep it in a cool place and sprinkle water to cool it down. Keep it indoors in winter to avoid frostbite.

5. Lighting

It likes light, and it is best to provide it with sufficient light exposure time when caring for it. It can receive full light in spring, autumn and winter. But in summer, it should be shaded and placed in semi-shade, away from strong sunlight.
