How to plant dragon fruit

1. Choose a flower pot

If you want to grow dragon fruit at home, you must first choose a suitable flowerpot. It is best to have small ventilation holes at the bottom so that excess water can be drained out. It is better to use a ceramic flower pot, preferably with a diameter of about 35cm.

2. Prepare the soil

Dragon fruit is not suitable for growing in alkaline soil. You need to prepare suitable nutrient soil, which you can buy directly at the flower market. In addition, the soil should have a certain degree of air permeability and not be too sticky.

3. Planting

Place pebbles and tiles at the bottom of the flowerpot, add the prepared soil, and carefully plant the dragon fruit cuttings into the soil. You need to insert two wooden sticks into the flowerpot and tie them together to allow its seedlings to grow better.

4. Reasonable fertilization

It is best to use organic fertilizer when fertilizing it, and control the amount. Do not apply too much fertilizer at one time. Not only will it not help it grow, but it will also cause root burn due to excessive nutrients.

5. Water appropriately

Dragon fruit does not have very strict requirements for water, and watering does not need to be too frequent. Just wait until the soil is dry before watering it. It is best to water it thoroughly at once. If you water it frequently, it will affect its survival and cause root rot.
