The branches of asparagus fern are upright, like green bamboo with a sense of righteousness. Many friends like to grow a few pots of asparagus fern at home to make their home more elegant. But asparagus fern is really delicate and very picky about the growing environment. Its leaves turn yellow easily. It is not easy to grow asparagus fern in soil. Why not try hydroponics? Hydroponics asparagus fern is easy to grow and can easily grow lush and green! Hydroponic method of asparagus fern1. Pruning and branch selection Choose a well-growing and well-developed bamboo mother plant hydroponic material, take the asparagus fern out of the pot with the soil, carefully wash off the soil at the roots, remove the rotten roots, and cut off some of the old roots. Then wash the leaves and plants with clean water to avoid damaging the plants. Since asparagus fern takes root slowly and has tender fleshy roots, be careful when collecting materials so as not to damage the roots of the asparagus fern. 2. Disinfection and colonization It is best to choose a planting basket for hydroponic asparagus fern. Fix the cleaned plants in the planting basket, and allow the roots to fully stretch when fixing. Then soak the plant roots and the planting basket in a 1% carbendazim solution for 30 minutes, take out the plant roots, place them in a cool place, and wait until they become soft before proceeding to the next step. 3. Hydroponics The previous steps are just the beginning. The important thing is to get started. Place the treated plants (together with the planting basket) in a hydroponic container, add special nutrient solution for asparagus fern, and place it in the hydroponic container. When placing it, put 2/3 of it in water to ensure that part of the roots are exposed to the air and that the roots can breathe smoothly. Maintenance precautions for asparagus fern1. Watering and temperature control After the flower buds germinate, spray water on the leaves twice a day and control the temperature at 15-25℃. New roots will germinate within two weeks. During this period, change the water frequently, every 3 to 5 days. After three to four weeks, the asparagus fern will have a lot of new roots, so you can reduce the amount of water changes and add more ceramsite to fix the plant. Foliar fertilizer should be added every two weeks after the roots have grown. 2. Rooting and supplementary light Before rooting, the plant should be maintained in a semi-shaded place. After rooting, new leaves will slowly grow and additional light is needed. Hydroponic bamboo is usually placed next to a window, but not in a place with direct sunlight, and ventilation should be maintained. After rooting, the water level of the hydroponic container should be observed at all times and water should be added in time. 3. Replace the nutrient solution In the hydroponic culture of asparagus fern, it is best to use a nutrient solution specially made for asparagus fern. Asparagus fern hydroponics is relatively easy to maintain. Just pay attention to changing the water in daily life, about 7-10 days in summer and about 20 days in winter. You need to replenish the nutrient solution every time you change the water. |
