Maintaining acidic soil

Hydrangea grows well in acidic soil because it contains a lot of iron, which can meet its nutrient needs. The main symptoms are yellowing of the tender leaves at the top of the branches and yellowing of the old leaves, but the veins are still green. As the disease worsens, the leaves of the entire plant will turn yellow, the leaf edges will dry and scorch, and gradually fall off.

Workaround

Water with ferrous sulfate solution or potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution once every 10 to 20 days to ensure that the soil is acidic. Or you can directly pour 150~250 times diluted rice vinegar, and it will be effective after 3~4 times. (It is best to use these three solutions in turn for better results)

Adding sulfur powder to the soil when planting or repotting can ensure that the soil is acidic. Its effectiveness can last for 2 to 3 years. In spring and autumn, the plant has lush branches and leaves. Applying alum fertilizer once every 15 days can prevent the occurrence of chlorosis of the plant and make the leaves bright and dark green.
