Methods and precautions for hydroponic cultivation of pink palm How to maintain hydroponic pink palm

The pink anthurium is very unique with brightly colored flowers. The flowering period is 2-4 months and it has a high ornamental value. Since the pink anthurium is hydrophilic, it can be cultivated through hydroponics. So today the editor will focus on the hydroponics of pink anthurium. How to cultivate pink anthurium hydroponically?

Hydroponic method of pink palm

1. Choose a container

Before conducting hydroponics, you need to have an appropriate container. Usually we use translucent or transparent containers. When conducting hydroponics, you can choose a container that is slightly larger than the plant.

During the later maintenance, you can raise a few small fish in it for better ornamental effect. The container should be light-colored, which matches the branches and leaves of the pink palm better.

2. Remove the plant from the pot

Remove the pink palm from the flowerpot, and wash off the soil at the roots. Be careful not to damage the roots. If there are rotten roots, they should be pruned in time. If there are old and yellow leaves on the plant, they should also be cut off.

Soak the roots in carbendazim or potassium permanganate solution for disinfection to avoid root rot during hydroponics.

3. Fix the plants

You can prepare a pot of hydroponics, fix the roots of the pink palm on the hydroponic basket, then put a small amount of vermiculite, pebbles, etc. in the container, add 1/2 or 2/3 water to the container, and better place it under the roots to soak in water.

Precautions for hydroponics of pink palm

1. Change water

When hydroponically cultivating for the first time, change the water once a week. After the roots, branches and leaves begin to grow, change the water every 2-3 days. Add some nutrient solution or solid fertilizer appropriately during the water change process.

Friends should pay attention to changing the water frequently, because bacteria in the water are more likely to breed, which will cause root rot over time.

2. Lighting

For hydroponic pink anthurium, it can be exposed to sunlight once a month, and then placed in semi-shade for maintenance. If the light is too strong, the leaves of the pink anthurium will turn yellow, while lack of light will make the branches and leaves darker, and even the leaf color will become dull. It is best to have brighter scattered light.
