Pistachio Growth Environmental Conditions and Characteristics

Pistachio Growth Environmental Conditions and Characteristics

Pistachio Growth Environmental Conditions and Requirements

Pistachio, also known as pistachio, is a common nut. It is mostly grown in the United States, Turkey, Iran, Greece, Syria and Afghanistan. Pistachio has good tolerance and is generally more suitable for growing in warm and sunny environments.

Pistachio Growth Temperature

Pistachios have good heat and cold resistance, and can withstand high temperatures of 40 degrees and low temperatures of minus 30 degrees. Generally, the most suitable growth temperature for pistachios is between 24 and 26 degrees. Their cold resistance in the Mediterranean region is relatively poor.

Pistachio Growth Humidity

Pistachios do not require very high humidity and have good drought resistance. Generally, the relative humidity of the air can be around 50% during growth. The planting soil needs to be moist. Generally, a soil moisture content of around 70% is most conducive to the growth of pistachios.

Pistachio Growing Soil

Pistachios are highly adaptable and have low soil requirements. Generally, pistachios are more suitable for planting in deep, loose, calcareous clay loam or sandy loam, in which the lime content must be around 25%.

Pistachio Growth Cycle and Process

Pistachios have a relatively long lifespan, but grow relatively slowly. Generally, newly planted pistachios require at least six years of care before they can bloom and bear fruit. Generally, the survival rate of pistachios planted in April is higher.
