Cultivation method of Astragalus membranaceus

Apply fertilizer at the right time

The main fertilizers for fertilizing astragalus are phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, and nitrogen fertilizer can be added appropriately. Apply different fertilizers at different times. Generally, apply calcium phosphate and manure water in late autumn to promote early nodules and early seedlings; around the winter solstice, apply potassium fertilizer or wood ash to enhance cold resistance; apply urea after the beginning of spring to promote the growth of branches and leaves.

Timely pressing

Chinese alfalfa is usually pressed green about ten days before the transplanting period during the flowering period. For large-scale breeding, an appropriate amount of lime is evenly applied per acre to promote plant decay to neutralize the acidity.

Water at the right time

Sweet clover likes a warm and humid environment, especially during the growing season, it needs sufficient water, but care should also be taken to avoid waterlogging, so it is crucial to control the amount of watering. In addition, it is necessary to spray water frequently to keep the environment moist.

Precautions for the maintenance of Astragalus

Sowing at the right time and in the right amount

Since Astragalus prefers cool weather, it can be sown about twenty days after the late rice is harvested in late autumn. When sowing, it is important to note that the seeds must be soaked, dried and germinated to increase the germination rate.

Rhizobium

When the astragalus seeds are germinating and turning white, mix them with rhizobia. That is, mix the bacteria with cold porridge soup and then mix them with the seeds.

Strengthen maintenance management

For large-scale economic cultivation of Astragalus, ditches should be dug after the late rice is harvested, including ring-field ditches, side ditches, and cross drainage ditches, to keep the soil moist and avoid water accumulation. In addition, attention should be paid to the prevention and control of diseases and pests. For powdery mildew, use carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl, for aphids, use dimethoate, for sticky insects, use trichlorfon or rice vinegar and saccharin. Care must also be taken to avoid livestock hazards.
