How to plant Magnolia

How to plant Magnolia

1. Planting time

The best time to plant magnolia is from March to May in spring, or from August to October in autumn. The temperature is relatively stable during these two periods, which has less impact on the plants. The plants have strong germination ability, a greater chance of success, and grow best.

2. Selecting seedlings

If you use seeds to plant, the time span will be very long and the cultivation time will be very long, so it is recommended to directly choose seedlings, which are relatively easy to plant and cultivate. Select suitable seedlings in advance, requiring them to have good root growth and development, a developed root system, and no diseased branches or dead leaves. Choosing such seedlings can ensure the chance of survival. You must not choose those with root rot, as this type of plant has problems with its growth and it will be difficult for it to survive after planting.

3. Planting Location

The choice of planting site is also very important. It needs to be in a sunny location with loose, soft soil and good drainage. After choosing a location, you need to dig planting holes with a diameter of about 1 meter and a depth of about 50-90 centimeters. The distance between each hole should be kept between 2-5 meters. After digging the pit, fill the bottom of the pit with organic fertilizer as base fertilizer.

4. Planting

The saplings should be covered with soil and the roots should not be damaged. The branches and leaves above should be slightly trimmed, and the yellow parts should be cut off. Then they should be transplanted and planted in the pit, covered with soil and gently pressed to make it firm. Pay attention to the later maintenance.
