How to make cactus grow easily by cuttings? The method and process of cactus cuttings

Cactus is a relatively common home-grown plant. It can usually be propagated by cuttings, which is its main method of propagation. It has a high survival rate and the operation is relatively simple.

Cactus cutting time

Because the suitable growth temperature of cactus is between 20-25℃, it is more suitable for cuttings in spring and autumn, specifically in April-May or August-September . Depending on the region, the best time for cuttings may vary slightly. If it is indoors, cuttings can be done all year round.

Cactus cutting method

1. Cuttings

Cut a section of stem and leaf with good growth from the cactus as a cutting. Soak it in disinfectant for 20-30 minutes, then place it in a semi-shaded place for about 10 days. Wait until the cut end is completely dry before inserting it into the soil.

2. Prepare some loose flower soil for cuttings . It is best to mix sandy leaf mold and fine sand to make the flower soil. After preparation, put it in the flowerpot, and then insert the cuttings into the soil so that about half of its length is immersed in the soil. After insertion, compact the soil and water it once.

Cactus cutting rooting

After the cactus is grafted, it needs to be watered appropriately. Do not water it too much to avoid water accumulation. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight after grafting. It needs to be placed in a cool and ventilated place for cultivation. A small amount of fertilizer can be applied. In this way, the cactus will take root in about 15-30 days .
