Differences between Cosmos and Cineraria

1. Differences in plant types

The height of Cosmos is between 1-2m, and the stems are hairless or have only a small amount of soft hair. The height of Cineraria is 30-70cm, and the stems grow upright with dense, long white hairs.

2. The difference between leaves

The leaves of Cosmos are twice pinnate, and its lobes are linear or filamentous. The leaves of Cineraria are relatively broad, 10-15cm long, 10-20cm wide, and are wide heart-shaped.

3. The difference between flowers

The inflorescence of Cosmos is a capitulate inflorescence, the flowers are solitary, the pedicels are 6-18cm, and the flower diameter is about 3-6cm. Its ligulate flowers are white, pink or purple, and its tubular flowers are yellow. The inflorescence of Cineraria is also a capitula, but its pedicel is only 3-6cm long. Its flower color is similar to that of cosmos, but the ligulate flowers have a light blue color that the former does not have.
