Methods and precautions for cultivating bromeliads at home

1. Temperature

It prefers a warm environment. It is best to maintain the room temperature at around 30 degrees. In winter, the temperature can be maintained at 12-20 degrees to avoid frostbite caused by low temperatures. In summer, it can be placed in a cool place for cultivation, which is more conducive to its growth.

2. Soil

Generally speaking, it grows better in loose and breathable soil. In addition, you can leave a few small holes at the bottom of the pot where you grow it to help it breathe better. It can be mixed with humus containing rotten leaves, sandy soil such as river sand, and garden soil. You can clean it once every two years, cut off the excess old leaves and maintain the roots.

3. Water

Just water in moderation, and be careful to control the water so that there is not too much water in the soil to avoid affecting its normal growth. You can water normally when the soil in the pot becomes dry.

4. Fertilization

Remember not to apply too much fertilizer, just apply appropriate flower fertilizer. It can be applied twice a month and sprinkled with clean water to prevent high concentration from burning and affecting its growth.

5. Notes

Pests and diseases need to be prevented and controlled in a timely manner, usually common ones like middle spot disease and gray mold. You can use special pesticides for spraying, preferably diluted ones, to avoid burning the plants. You can apply it once every half a month, about 3 times will be enough.
