How to grow bean sprouts - steps and process diagram of growing bean sprouts

When planting bean sprouts, you need to choose a light-proof sealed container. Generally, you can use a cage and put a layer of wet gauze on the bottom. Then spread the soaked soybeans evenly on the gauze, cover them with wet paper towels or wet towels, and then cover the cage lid.

Planting time of bean sprouts

Bean sprouts can be grown all year round . As long as there is a warm growing environment, they can be planted when the temperature reaches 15 degrees. In winter, they can be germinated indoors and mature about 10 days after sowing.

Bean sprouts have high requirements for temperature. In the early stage of planting, the ambient temperature should be maintained at around 18 degrees to encourage the seeds to swell and germinate as quickly as possible. After all the bean sprouts have germinated, they can be placed in an environment with a temperature between 20-25 degrees to allow the bean sprouts to thrive.

Bean sprout planting method steps

1. Seed selection preparation

Before planting bean sprouts, you can soak soybeans or mung beans in water for about five hours . Remove the floating and rotten beans. The rounder the beans look, the better. Keep the seeds moist before sprouting to keep them alive.

2. Planting method

Generally speaking, bean sprouts are grown in smaller containers at home because they are easier to manage. When planting, wrap the bean sprouts with a wet rag and keep the container moist. Since bean sprouts generally grow on water, no additional fertilizer is needed.

Precautions for bean sprout planting

1. Temperature

Because the temperature directly affects the growth of bean sprouts, the temperature must be controlled well. During sowing, the temperature is generally controlled at around 18°C , which is the most suitable temperature for bean germination.

After the beans crack and sprout, the temperature needs to be controlled at around 23°C. At this time, the bean sprouts are in the growth period, and this temperature is most suitable for the growth of bean sprouts.

2. Moisture

In addition, bean sprouts have high requirements for water during their growth, and whether there is enough water directly affects the harvest of bean sprouts. Its entire growth environment needs to be maintained by water, and generally bean sprouts need to be watered every 5 hours or so .

3. Lighting

Bean sprouts basically do not need light to grow, so there is no need to worry about the impact of light. Bean sprouts need to be harvested immediately after they mature. If they are left for a long time, the roots will age easily, which will affect the taste of the bean sprouts.
