Potato planting time

The planting time for potatoes is generally around October to December each year . Autumn potatoes are best sown from late September to late October, and winter potatoes are best sown from late December to mid-January. Seed potatoes can germinate and grow when the soil surface temperature reaches 5-8℃, and the suitable growth temperature is around 15-20℃.

Due to the vast territory of my country, the climate in different regions is somewhat different, so the sowing time is also different. Potatoes can only be sown when the temperature meets the growth requirements, but it is best to sow early at the right time.

Potato Planting Methods

1. Before planting potatoes, be sure to select healthy and plump seed potatoes. Choosing suitable seed potatoes can effectively improve the survival rate of planting.

2. In order to make potatoes grow better, you should choose fertile and loose soil, plow it deeply and prepare it in advance, and apply base fertilizer to the soil.

3. The potatoes can be cut into pieces for germination about 1-3 days before sowing. Cut the seed potatoes into small pieces to ensure that each piece has healthy buds.

4. Finally, sow the potato seeds into the soil, taking care to avoid contact between the seeds and fertilizers, and cover them with soil after sowing.

Potato planting precautions

The temperature for planting potatoes should be around 21 degrees. Too high or too low a temperature is not good for plant growth. Pay attention to moisture, not too dry or too wet. Potatoes are light-loving plants and should be grown in a place with sufficient light.
