Can cactus be exposed to rain? Can it be placed outdoors in the rain?

Cactus is drought-resistant but afraid of moisture. If it is placed outdoors and exposed to the rain, not only will the roots be easily rotten due to water accumulation, but the grooves on the top of the sphere will also easily accumulate water, causing the sphere to rot. Therefore, if you grow a cactus outdoors, you must shelter it from the rain in the summer.

Cactus is a plant that is very afraid of water, especially water from the top. It is OK to have a light rain once or twice a month. But if it rains for several days or even more than ten days, it will be very dangerous.

Cactus in the rain

A shower like that doesn't last long and the amount of precipitation won't be too much, so even if the cactus is wet, it won't accumulate water, so there won't be much of a problem. If it rains for several days in a row, you can't leave it outdoors in the rain, because the amount of rainfall will exceed the cactus's tolerance.

If the cactus rots due to rain, find a sterilized knife and don't feel sorry for the rotten part of the cactus. Just cut it off completely. Then apply some carbendazim on the cut and place it in a cool place to dry the wound naturally.

Just planted cactus in the rain

The newly planted cactus cannot be exposed to rain. If it is exposed to rain, the residual water droplets will easily cause the cactus to rot slowly. In addition, the cactus is dormant in summer, and the root system slows down the speed of absorbing water. After the rain, the temperature is high and the humidity is high, so it is easy to rot if it is exposed to rain.
