How to change the soil of the peace tree? What kind of soil is best?

The growth rate of the peace lily is relatively fast. When the original pot is too small, or when the soil becomes compacted and infertile after a long period of cultivation, you can repot and change the soil.

The soil of the peace thyme tree can be changed once every 1-2 years of cultivation . It can be done in spring or autumn. The best time to change the soil is in March or April every spring . The temperature at this time is suitable for the peace thyme tree to adapt to the pot and grow.

How to change the soil of peace thyme tree

1. Prepare the soil

The peace lily likes loose, fertile, breathable and well-drained soil. You can use peat ash, vermiculite and fine sand , mix them evenly in a ratio of 5:3:2, and use it as the new culture soil for the peace lily. Note that the soil needs to be disinfected before use.

2. Remove the pot and prune the roots

Stop watering the peace lily for 1-3 days before changing the soil . When the soil becomes dry, use a flower shovel to shovel around the wall of the pot to separate the plant from the wall of the pot. Keep 1/2 of the soil to prevent the root ball from falling apart. Use sterilized scissors to trim dead roots, rotten roots, and diseased branches. Apply carbendazim to sterilize and place in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

3. Put it in the basin

Prepare a flowerpot that is suitable for the size of the peace lily, put a layer of expanded clay on the bottom of the pot, spread a layer of culture soil, place the peace lily plant in the pot, straighten it with your hands, continue to fill it with culture soil, and compact the soil.

Things to note when changing the soil for peace trees

After safely changing the soil, you can pour an appropriate amount of water into the soil to soak all the soil, provide a relatively moist growth environment for the plant, allow the plant to better adapt to the environment, and then place it in a cool place to slowly grow. The temperature should be controlled at 20-28℃. It will take about 15-20 days for the plant to adapt to the pot. After the slow growth period, you can maintain and manage it normally.
